Lafayette resident Budd McKenzie will be speaking on "Making a Difference in Afghanistan" at the Legal Advocacy Fundraiser February 16.

When the war in Iraq began in 2003, Budd and a group of friends decided to form an organization to make a difference in Afghanistan. You will want to hear how "Trust in Education—Village by Village and Village to Village", provides food and clothing, healthcare, education and economic development programs to this war torn country.

Traveling often to Afghanistan, Budd will bring news of how women in Afghanistan are faring under ever-disintegrating circumstances and how the villagers are doing in their shared goal with TIE to achieve sustainability; to rid their village of their dependence upon others.
