East Bay and Beyond Branch Highlights
New: Watch a movie about AAUW. It just takes six minutes!
This branch of the American Association of University Women serves Orinda, Moraga, and Lafayette, small California towns nestled in rolling hills about 15 miles east of San Francisco. We have much to offer our 250 members, including activities, events, interest groups, and educational opportunities.
The American Association of University Women is a national organization that promotes education and equity for all women and girls. Our commitment to these issues is reflected by the AAUW public policy program.
Nationally, AAUW is comprised of:
- The Association, the organization to which we all belong. It has more than 100,000 members in 1300 branches across the United States and 550 college/university members. It lobbies and advocates for education and equity for women and girls. All women members of AAUW are also members of the International Federation of University Women.
-
The Educational Foundation, the nation’s oldest foundation awarding fellowships and grants to women, which funds pioneering research on girls’ education, community action projects and fellowships for women around the globe. One of the most important programs of the Foundation is the Legal Advocacy Fund which provides funds and a support system for women and men in higher education seeking judicial redress for denial of tenure and sexual harassment.
