March General Meeting
What: Making Connections
When: Tuesday, March 20, at 9:30 a.m.
Where: Holy Trinity Serbian Church Cultural Center

Please join us for an interesting and informative presentation by our own branch member Ksenija Olmer. Since this year's theme is "Making Connections," the March meeting will be devoted to making connections with the world community.

Ksenija has traveled widely in Thailand and Cambodia raising funds to assist local communities in those countries to build wells, start small businesses, and provide educational supplies to young people. Ksenija is currently in Cambodia with a group of Saint Mary's students. Some of them will be available to join her for a presentation that will be accompanied by photographs and shared stories.

April General Meeting
What: Tech Trek and Scholarship Awards
When: Sunday, April 22, at 3 p.m.
Where: Holy Trinity Serbian Church Cultural Center

In March, the Tech Trek committee will be interviewing thirty-nine 7th-grade girls to select six winners. These outstanding young women were nominated by their science and math teachers at Lamorinda Intermediate Schools. They are in the process of completing applications and writing essays about their enthusiasm for science and math. Plan on attending this meeting to meet these incredible girls and hear about their goals and passions. We will also honor and present the four branch scholarship winners chosen from each local High School and St Mary's College.

"From Mudflats to Mars: A Personal Odyssey" will be the keynote presentation by margaret RaceMargaret Race, PhD, for this awards program. Dr. Race is an ecologist who works with NASA and the SETI institute.

AAUW-OML

Our branch serves Orinda, Moraga, and Lafayette, small California towns nestled in rolling hills about 15 miles east of San Francisco. We have much to offer our members, including activities, events, interest groups, and educational opportunities.

The American Association of University Women is a national organization that advances equity for women through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research. AAUW has more than 100,000 members in 1300 branches across the United States and 550 college/university members. It lobbies and advocates for education and equity for women and girls. Our commitment to these issues is reflected by the AAUW public policy program.
