The Orinda-Moraga-Lafayette Branch of AAUW (AAUW-OML) has offered this program to Bay Area girls since 2000. Sister-to-Sister Summits were developed by AAUW in order to give girls a voice about issues that affect them.
Sister-to-Sister brings middle and high school girls together in an energizing and supportive environment to address the challenging issues of adolescence. Our goal is to develop self-confident and resilient young women and empower them to make positive choices in their lives.
The American Association of University Women (AAUW) is a national organization of college-educated women that has been advocating for equity and opportunity for women and girls since 1881.
AAUW advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy, and research.
The Orinda-Moraga-Lafayette Branch of AAUW, through an active, diverse, and vital membership, will make a positive impact on our local and global community by promoting education, empowering women and girls, and supporting personal and professional growth.
In principle and practice, AAUW values and seeks a diverse membership. There shall be no barriers to full participation in this organization on the basis of gender, race, creed, age, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or class.
